In this role, you will be responsible for managing the entire engine room, carrying out technical maintenance and repairs, and handling the ship’s administration. You will work closely with a tight-knit team of six crew members including Dutch-speaking officers. You will report directly to the captain and work closely with a technical superintendent and a technical purchaser. The current sailing and leave rotation in the sea towage service is 4 weeks on/4 weeks off in Europe and 6 weeks on/6 weeks off for assignments outside of Europe.
Your profile
- For ocean towage, you must hold at least an STCW 2010 Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer (Unlimited), along with valid STCW certificates, a valid medical certificate, and a valid seaman’s bookYou have experience in managing an engine room and have extensive technical knowledge.
- You work well under pressure, are resourceful and have a hands-on mentality.
- You are fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
Not (yet) the right profile, but have a strong affinity with tugboats? We offer the opportunity to learn the trade through a training programme as a trainee (H)WTK. This programme consists of on-the-job training, where you will initially work above crew complement under the supervision of experienced colleagues.
