Montis provides its services 24 hours a day with a fleet of powerful tenders and workboats, purpose‑built for handling mooring lines and carrying out mooring and unmooring operations. All vessels are crewed by qualified boatmen. In addition to these core services, Montis operates a 36‑metre tender equipped with cooling and freezing capacity for vessel provisioning. The company also supplies certified boatmen to serve as wheelmen on the Western Scheldt and the Ghent–Terneuzen Canal.
Montis is VCA* and ISO 9001:2015 certified and fully compliant with all local port regulations. All vessels are approved by the Netherlands Shipping Inspectorate. Montis is a subsidiary of Multraship Towage & Salvage, a division of the Muller Maritime Group.**

Do you dream of a career as a boatman? We offer a fully funded, three‑year vocational training programme, including all the qualifications you need. Upon completion, you will be fully equipped to work independently in the profession.
- Admission requirements: minimum of VMBO (theoretical, mixed, or technical pathway) or a transition certificate from year 3 to year 4 of HAVO/VWO.
- Exemptions may be granted based on relevant inland shipping experience or recognised certificates.
You will learn the trade at an accredited training company, with intensive guidance and plenty of opportunities to grow.
